Our mission is to advocate for, support and honour the retired fire and rescue personnel of Cyprus — protecting their rights, safeguarding their welfare and ensuring their sacrifice is never forgotten.
Mission statement
The ΟΡΓΑΝΩΣΗ ΣΥΝΤΑΞΙΟΥΧΩΝ ΠΥΡΟΣΒΕΣΤΩΝ ΚΥΠΡΟΥ exists to stand beside the women and men who spent their working lives protecting the people of Cyprus. Firefighters accept risks few professions demand: extreme heat, toxic smoke, structural collapse, and the lasting weight of what they witness. Those risks do not end on the day of retirement.
We are therefore dedicated to advocating for the rights, welfare, social inclusion, health and recognition of retired firefighters, and to supporting their families and surviving spouses. We do this through direct assistance, constructive dialogue with public authorities, peer support, and by continuing our members' lifelong contribution to public safety through education and community service.
How we fulfil it
Every programme we run is measured against one question: does it improve the life, health or dignity of a retired firefighter, or make our communities safer? Resources are directed where that answer is clearly yes.
Rights
Defend fair pensions, benefits and the legal entitlements earned through hazardous public service.
Welfare
Provide practical, dignified assistance to members and families facing hardship, illness or loss.
Social inclusion
Keep every retiree connected — no former firefighter should face old age in isolation.
Health support
Raise awareness of occupational illnesses and help members access screening, treatment and care.
Recognition
Preserve the memory and heritage of the fire service and honour those who served and those who fell.
